Proposal Instructions:  The 2020 Landscape Project for Cherry Hill Lane, Cooneymus Road, Block Island, RI 02807.  The Block Island Housing Board is seeking bids for the execution of the landscaping plan, for the current project, Cherry Hill Lane.  All proposals must be received by February 10, 2020 in a sealed envelope.  Please provide 2 copies of the proposal within the sealed envelope.  On the front of the envelope please write Block Island Housing Board ATTN: Landscape Bid and submit your bids to the Town Hall no later than February 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.

Scope of Work:   This proposal is for the landscape and plantings for the Cherry Hill Lane project off of Cooneymus Road.  The landscape design plan will be provided and the specific plant locations should be adhered to according to the landscape design.  There is a specific list of trees, plants and grasses.  The only modifications that can be made are based on plant availability.  If a nursery cannot provide the exact variety of a plant specified, then it will be acceptable to use the most similar variety to the design plan.  The awarded bidder will be responsible for all aspects and scope of work with regard to the landscape plan provided.  The bid does NOT include finish grade or lawn planting.  Once the landscape work has been finished, it will then be the responsibility of the Home Owners Association of Cherry Hill Lane to water and maintain the health of the plantings as needed.  Please note that this is a Town sponsored project funded by the Block Island Housing Board, therefore it is tax exempt. 

Property Tours:   There is no set date to tour the Cherry Hill Lane property. The Housing Board encourages you to visit the site to visualize the scope of work for your proposal.  Please be conscious when visiting the development, as it is in the midst of an active construction phase. 

Terms & Conditions:   It shall be the responsibility of the Landscape Contractor to coordinate with the General Contractor and Housing Board to determine the work schedule. The final completion date for finished landscaping will be July 1, 2020. 

Payments:   Once the bid has been awarded, the Block Island Housing Board can issue a deposit of up to 1/2 of the total cost of acquiring materials. It will be at the discretion of the Housing Board to withhold final payment until completion. Please make out all invoices to: The Block Island Housing Board.

Insurance:   Please provide proof of Commercial General Liability Insurance, as well as Workers Compensation, under your business name, with your bid proposal.
