Fred Benson Beach Food and Beverage Concession


Separate sealed bids will be received by the TOWN OF NEW SHOREHAM, RHODE ISLAND for FRED BENSON BEACH FOOD AND BEVERAGE CONCESSION on or before 2:00 pm. on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the office of the Town Manager, Town Hall, Old Town Road, Block Island, RI and at that time will be opened and read in public.

Bidding Documents may be obtained from Samuel Bird, Facilities Manager, Town of New Shoreham  by email at and are available on the Town of New Shoreham website, and the City of Newport procurement site

All bids must be submitted on the bid form provided, in duplicate and clearly marked: Fred Benson Beach Food and Beverage Concession

Bids must be enclosed in an opaque envelope addressed to "Town Manager, Town of New Shoreham" bearing the name and address of the bidder.

Bidder is solely responsible for allowing sufficient time for delivery and understanding delivery to Block Island can be delayed by weather and other transportation delays. Bids received after the deadline above will not accepted and shall be returned to the bidder unopened. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bid.

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for at 12:00 noon November 24, 2020 at the Fred Benson Beach Pavilion, Corn Neck Road, Block Island, RI. This meeting is not mandatory but will be the ONLY opportunity to view the concession areas. The Town may reschedule this meeting if ferry service to Block Island is cancelled due to weather. Rescheduled time will be posted as an Addendum.

The Town of New Shoreham reserves the right to reject any/all bids, waive any informalities in the bids received and to accept and award the bid to the highest qualified bid deemed most favorable to the interest of the Town of Narragansett.

Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Clerks Department  (401 466 3200) three business days prior to the bid opening.
