Contractor Services - Cherry Hill Lane Subdivision


The Block Island Housing Board, New Shoreham, Rhode Island, wishes to engage the services of a qualified contractor to manage the development and construction of five (5) single family homes to be built on Cherry Hill Lane, a subdivision located off Cooneymus Road in said Town. It is the Housing Board's intent to construct five homes, appropriate for affordable, year round ownership to increase the affordable housing stock on Block Island. Each contractor submitting proposals must be lawfully engaged in the practice of general contracting, in good standing, and with specific experience in the type of project requested herein. An overview and detailed project plans and specifications are provided later in the Request for Proposals (RFP).

Proposals must be received by the Office of the Town Clerk, located at 16 Old Town Road, Biock Island, RI 02807 no later than 2:00 PM on September 28, 2018 from interested firms, to be eligible for consideration by the Town. Each proposal shall be submitted in a sealed envelope which is clearly marked:

Requests may be issued only by the Block Island Housing Board, or their designee, to authorized firms, and are not transferable unless authorized by the Housing Board. Copies of the RFP documents and all future addenda are available, at no charge, on the Town's website at

A pre-proposal informational meeting will be held at 1:00 PM on September 10, 2018 in Town Council Chambers, Town Hall, 16 Old Town Road, New Shoreham, RI 02807. A site visit will follow the meeting.

The Block Island Housing Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or any part thereof, to waive any formality, infonmality, information and/or errors in the proposal, to accept the proposal considered to be in the best interest of the Board, or to purchase on the open market if it is considered in the best interest of the Town to do so.

Failure to submit all infonmation as detailed in the RFP document and/or submission of an unbalanced proposal are sufficient reasons to declare a proposal as non-responsive and subject to disqualification.
