NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ENERGY COMPONENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

The New Shoreham Town Council will conduct a public hearing on the new Energy Component, as approved by the Planning Board on April 11, 2012, of the comprehensive plan.  The Energy Component is an addendum to the New Shoreham Comprehensive Plan, last updated on March 2, 2009.  The Energy Plan includes information on the production and use of all energy sources on the island, as well as conservation efforts and the impact of state and local regulations.  The plan includes 28 implementing actions in the areas of electric power; fuel use; solid waste; water use; renewable energy including wind, solar and biodiesel; conservation efforts; energy regulations and policies; and building design and sustainable development.

Copies of the Energy Plan are available at Town Hall in the Town Clerk's Office, at the Island Free Library, and on the Town's website new-shoreham.com.  To request a copy, contact the Town Clerk's Office at 466-3200 or email townclerk@new-shoreham.com.

The proposed Energy Plan to be discussed at the Public Hearing may be altered or amended prior to the close of the Public Hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing.  Any alteration or amendment must be presented for comment in the course of the hearing.

The Town Council Public Hearing will be held at the New Shoreham Town Hall on Old Town Road at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at which time all persons may be heard.
